Bristol Cruise Port

Bristol Cruise Port
The port of Bristol is located on the River Avon close to the city centre which makes it a popular stopping point for small to medium sized cruise ships but unfortunately it lacks the facilities and infrastructure to offer a wide range of cruises starting from the port.

The cruises offered are on smaller vessels which also tend to be older ships so holidays are more suited to those wanting a more traditional style of cruise holiday.

Cruise Lines

Cruise and Maritime are the main providers of holidays from Bristol with a couple of ships operating infrequently throughout the summer months.

Destinations

Whilst there are only a limited amount of cruises offered from the Port of Bristol, there is actually a good selection of destinations.

Everywhere from the more common destinations of the Canary Islands to the Mediterranean can be visited alongside less common destinations such as the Caribbean and Morocco.

Location

The port of Bristol is located on the River Avon, near to the city of Bristol in the South West of England. The port is ideally located for those living in the South West as well as the South of Wales.

Terminals

Embarkation takes place at 2 separate locations, both on the River von with Avonmouth and the Royal Portbury Docks both used.

Parking

There is plenty of secure parking available for cruise holidaymakers at Bristol.

Transport

For those arriving at the port via road, the docks can be reached easily via the M4 and M5 motorways whilst the nearby Bristol train station (Bristol Temple Meads) has connections to most parts of England and Scotland.

A taxi journey is around 20-30 minutes from the station and from the centre of Bristol although there is a station near to the Avonmouth dock for those departing from there.
