Sweden Cruise Holiday Guide

Stockholm, Sweden

The Kingdom of Sweden is known for its relaxed towns and cities, for its beautiful forests and for its stunning coastline and there is no better way to experience all of that than on a cruise holiday to the country.

The fact that Sweden sits in the middle of Scandinavia and on the Baltic Sea makes it a hugely popular choice for British cruisers and for cruise lines operating out of our shores.

From a cruise holiday point of view, the country can be visited on a short cruise to the Nordic region or on a longer cruise to the Baltics, which gives lots of options but no matter where you choose to cruise to in the region, it is likely that a stop in Sweden is amongst the highlights of your trip, especially if you are stopping in the heart of the nation’s capital city of Stockholm where the entry through the Stockholm archipelago, a group of over 20,000 islands, offers one of the most stunningly beautiful port entries of any port of call in the world.

Sweden borders its Nordic neighbours Norway to the west and north and Finland to east, whilst it is also linked to neighbour Denmark via the impressive Oresund tunnel/bridge, something that many visiting the country will sail under, that links the western city of Malmo with the Danish capital city of Copenhagen.

The great news is that the city is just as beautiful but no matter what ports of call your cruise includes when visiting Sweden, you can be assured of a great time, in a safe and relaxed atmosphere that only Nordic countries such as Sweden can offer.
